F&H Bar & Grill

At F&H Bar & Grill our menus are written seasonally to encourage us to use as many local ingredients as possible, with a daily changing choice of specials on our blackboards. Our menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of choice for all including dietary needs. We specialise in showcasing this with our stone base pizza oven and open grill. Our covered alfresco area is available for bookings and we also have a new large alfresco area looking over the woodland.

At Feather & Hide we like to use local suppliers for our ingredients, this not only keeps the carbon footprint low but uses local farmers and producers which in turn helps you, the customer, enjoy some of the best ingredients the area has to offer. These are just some of them we use…

Heddens of Woodtown

Michael and his family breed Devons popular Ruby Red cows which we use for all our beef cuts in the restaurant and farm shop. They age all our beef for a minimum of 28days, which adds great flavour and texture to the meat. All our burgers are made from quality steak mince. We only add a little extra fat and salt to our burgers then flame grill them on our open grill to add to the amazing flavour.

All our rare breed pork & lamb is also bred on the farm. Heddens also grow a wide range of vegetables and fruits which we use in both our recipes and for our fresh produce in the farm shop.

Serene Skye Fishing

Shaun and the crew have been supplying us with some amazing fresh lobsters, crabs and fish since we opened our first restaurant. Caught locally, then picked up from the quay in Appledore. We can’t get it any fresher.

Appledore Mussels

Thanks to Shaun at Serene Skye we were introduced to Charlene at Appledore Mussels. These are most definitely some of the best mussels we’ve ever had. They are truly delicious.

Hawkridge Farmhouse Dairy

Supplying us with some amazing local cheeses and dairy produce which can be found on the menu.

Parkham Dairy

We use Parkham farm for all our cheddar in the restaurant and farm-shop. It is such a nutty flavour, it lends itself to a good cauliflower cheese or Welsh rarebit.

We regularly get fish and shellfish straight from the Quay in Appledore and then bring it back for the evening menu. Please ask about tonight’s fish specials.

FROM THE GRILL

Prime cuts of Devon Ruby Red, cooked on our open grill. All our grilled meats come with seasoned house fries, garlic and thyme roasted mushrooms, slow cooked cherry tomatoes and buttermilk onion rings with either hollandaise or peppercorn sauce.

PIZZA

Our pizza dough is made with traditional Caputo Italian flour and olive oil for that great tasting dough, finished with homemade tomato sauce & fresh buffalo mozzarella then cooked on a stone base for the tasty crisp finish.

BAR

We have taken the time to source some really great local beers, ciders & stout for our draught choice as well as our bottles that include, Sandford Cider, Menadu stout & St Austell’s Tribute. The wine list is extensive with some amazing wines from around the world to suit all tastes.

TAKEAWAY

We offer a takeaway service of our weekly menu. Our slots get very busy so the earlier the better. Please call the restaurant to place your order on 01409 261481. You can pay when you order or on collection.
